“And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”( John 8:32)
What is the Truth?
In John 14:6( NIV) , Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me”.
Jesus is not only the way and the life but also the truth.
God = The Truth=The Word of God
Knowing the truth means knowing The Word of God
Do you Know The Word of God?
Only the knowledge of The Word of God will lead you to the truth which would liberate you.
How will you know God?
John 2:3
“By this we know that we have come to know Him, if we keep His commandments”.
1 John 2:4
The one who says, “I have come to know Him,” and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
What is God’s Commandments?
Romans 13:9
For the commandments, “You shall not commit adultery, You shall not murder, You shall not steal, You shall not covet,” and any other commandment, are summed up in this word: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”
Love is the first and great commandment of God.When you love your neighbour as yourself you shall not commit adultery, you shall not murder, you shall not steal, you shall not covet. All these sins spring up from lack of love for one another.
How am I set free through keeping God’s commandments?
Deuteronomy 28:13
The Lord will make you the head and not the tail, and you only will be above, and you will not be underneath, if you listen to the commandments of the Lord your God, which I charge you today, to observe them carefully
Deuteronomy 30:16
in that I command you today to love the Lord your God, to walk in His ways and to keep His commandments and His statutes and His judgments, that you may live and multiply, and that the Lord your God may bless you in the land where you are entering to possess it.
To set free implies a usually permanent removal from whatever binds, confines, entangles, or oppresses us. You are free because you know the truth and keep His Commandments, I am free because I know the truth and keep His Commandments.The truth we know is The Word of God and He is Holy.
